Project 1 final ( assymetrical)

project 1 final (Symmetrical)

My symmetrical design was pretty easy to create once I started it. I tried to keep things simple with repetition. I repeated the same shape to create sort of a mirror image. There is no focal point which is something that I always feel is most important but in this case I wanted it to have strong rhythm but also be light on the eye. I also wanted equal balance. My asymmetrical design was the one that i had the trouble with. First and foremost, I wanted to have a focal point, someplace for the eye to start. I wanted to begin directly in the middle but that would be too original and would not comply with the rule of thirds. Proportion had to be considered when doing this and I didn’t want to leave too much negative space. Considering that I used different shapes and sizes and put them in different places they still needed to communicate with each other to form unity so I made some shapes touching so there would be some type of relationship. I didn’t want to have too much relationship to the point that where they just looked like just one single shape so I changed the scale on the united shapes

When i created my thumbnails and my designs my objective for my audience was to communicate with them and to get them to understand the design. One way I did that is by using a lot of typography. Typography is a great form of visual communication. If the audience doesn’t fully understand the design, the text will definitely help. Another form that I used is shapes, all types of shapes with different textures and different sizes. These are some of the design elements that were considered in the visual communication process.

As far as class participation, I believe that I and excelling in it because I ask questions when I don’t understand something. I am coming into this course as a complete beginner so a lot of things are difficult for me to comprehend. I am not afraid to speak up and participate, I am not ashamed when I am wrong, and I have no problem sharing my work with my fellow classmates. I am very interested in this course and I wouldn’t be satisfied with myself until I at least have a general understanding of it so I definitely try to stay involved.
